This election is rigged. So rigged it makes me mad. And do you know who is rigging it? Trump. Trump the rigger. This election is Trumped up. You bet.
FINANCIAL TIMES, October 17 2016:
Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner has informally approached one of the media industry’s top dealmakers about the prospect of setting up a Trump television network after the presidential election in November.
…the approach suggests Mr Kushner and the Republican candidate himself are thinking about how to capitalise on the populist movement that has sprung up around their campaign in the event of an election defeat to Democrat Hillary Clinton next month. Mr Trump has in recent days ramped up his criticism of the “dishonest and distorted” mainstream media, which he accuses of being biased against him in collusion with the Clinton campaign.
Ever since FT first reported the meeting, a few media outlets have picked up the story; which I expect to be one of the major issues the next few weeks leading up to the election. That is if any of us (both media and the public) have some sense in us.
Trump the Rigger here, is complaining the media is slanted in favor of ‘crooked Hillary’, when in fact it is he who is crooked; playing the American public and using the sacred process of democratic election in favor of his own business, only to unabshedly spit back in Democracy’s face by speaking ill of the system and threatening the peaceful transition of power.
Mr. Trump, do you want to lead America or make more money? Is it free media that you want, or one that is only a tool in your hands to bash your opponents hand sqash criticism?
The extent to which Trump is breaking the rules of political conduct is disturbing and offensive to anyone who believes in “government of the people, by the people, for the people”. Or at it should be.
There quite possibly could not be anothr candidate facing Trump that’d be any worse than this to the magnificent achievements of American democracy in particular, and to democracy (wherever it may be) in general.
Couldn’t agree more? Beg to differ? Talk to me! (I’n on Twitter, Instagram and reading your comments here as well).
